Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your enquiry regarding Cambridge College Language Courses.  I am pleased to be able to send you our Agent's pack for Language courses in Milton Keynes, England, which will give you a broad outline of what our courses are all about.

We have been organising language and cultural tours in England for the last twenty years

and chose Milton Keynes for our foreign student dept due to the overcrowding in Cambridge, Oxford and the whole of the South Coast. At times it is difficult to find an English person let alone a family that is not boarding a minimum of 4 students in those towns. We believe this disqualifies them as a family and reduces their house to the level of a "Bed and Breakfast" where the student would return home knowing nothing about family life in England. We allow a maximum of two students per household.

The agency conditions with us are not complicated and are based on honesty and fairness. They are as follows :-

Our language tours have been devised with a well balanced content at a price which we know to be correct. Should you wish we will produce artwork for a brochure, accurately describing the contents of the tour and which you can easily reproduce on any photocopying machine of reasonable standard, to enable students to book. For this brochure we would expect you to proof

read the brochure in order that it is to your satisfaction and should any sections of text need translating we would expect you to have them translated although in most cases the translation will already exist. We will ensure that you have an address, a telephone and a fax number, where you can regularly contact senior staff members in order that any questions you may have can easily be answered. We would expect that you do the same. We will indicate the best method of transport, and give you the possibility of arranging this transport in order to earn extra commission. We will assist you in appointing and managing a network of sub-agents

should you require to increase the number of your bookings in areas where you are not represented at the present time. We will process your bookings, and show you how to confirm the bookings and how to take deposits. We will ensure that all individual sections of the holiday are to a high standard and that the participants are content and happy with the courses that they have received to promote word of mouth advertising. We will assist you in responding sympathetically to any reasonable complaints.

Our tours are organised throughout the year but most students come to us during the Easter and Summer holiday periods for three to four week stays. This often gives the agent the chance, if they so wish, to accompany the tour.  Participation on the tour is free of charge to most of our agents, and because people come to us from all over the world, our international atmosphere will allow you to meet people from all over the world and compare their sales techniques with your own.

The task of our agents is really very easy as our marketing department with years of experience is always on hand to guide and recommend although never forgetting that it is your business. For example: by sending press reports to newspapers in your area, articles will appear and people will contact you to ask for more details.  You then send them one of our brochures (which we help you produce) and if they like what they read, they will send the registration form back to you.

You then confirm the booking and ask them to send you a deposit together with a copy of the registration form. There are no prices shown in the brochure although we have recommended retail prices of which you are entitled to claim 10% Commision Our prices however will allow you to make a mark up of up to 35% and still remain competitive should you need a larger mark up for your advertising budget. About three or four weeks before the people are due to have their holiday they pay the rest of the money which you then send to us or bring with you if you wish to accompany the group and come with them.

Participation on the tour is free to our agents and we organise this in the following way: Airlines give one free seat to people accompanying groups of about 25 people and so do we!  So the whole holiday is financed. We do however expect agents accompanying groups to act as group leaders for them. In the beginning you will find us to be extremely generous should you for some reason not reach the target of 25.

Our courses are very competitive and really are good value for those taking part.

As well as our standard fully inclusive, all ages, all year offer we are also pleased to organise courses to cater specifically for the needs of your clients whether it be teenage holiday courses, one to one, small group options or even computer or management courses. We have established a high reputation for offering friendly, pleasant, but hardworking and efficient courses that are suitable for a complete beginner to a refresher course for teachers of the English language, and due to our nationality mix students soon feel at home and part of our international club with little time for home sickness. Our group leaders, under the supervision of our welfare officer, are sensitive to the needs of younger students who may be away from home for the first time, and understand how to achieve the correct balance of discipline (to keep the students out of harm's way) and friendliness to make them enjoy their stay.

Although wishing to welcome students from wherever they may come we have no intention of trying to compete with the larger teaching organisations. It is our intention to limit the number of students we receive to a number which enables us to give a personal service at all times. We are not members of nor have we applied to be members of any organisation such as Arel/Felco and have never asked for British Council recognition and can therefore remain totally independant in our methods and systems of teaching effective English which will help the students in their future life and career. Should the course participants so wish we can prepare and enter them for the following examinations: Pitman's, London Chamber of Commerce, Cambridge Proficiency and Cambridge first.

Any method of finding participants such as talking to teachers or working together with other Government or Private agencies are naturally welcomed as are any other forms of publicity.  We do however assume that all activities undertaken will at no time bring us into disrepute.
