Why take the IELTS test?
If you're planning to migrate or study abroad or if you want to meet entry requirements for college and visa processing, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will make sure you're fully prepared with the right level of English ability for your purpose.

IELTS tests are:
recognised worldwide
available in 106 countries
accepted by universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and North America
able to give you results within two weeks after you take the test
open to anyone aged sixteen and above.

Types of tests
There is only one type of IELTS test, but you can choose from either University or General Training Reading and Writing Modules. Choose University if you are planning to undertake higher education study in the UK, or General Training if you are considering non-University training or work experience (or for immigration purposes). See the IELTS website for detailed information about the test.

How the test is marked - results
Band scores are recorded on a Test Report Form, showing overall ability as well as performance in listening, reading, writing and speaking from 1 to 9.
