Milton Keynes
Just 35 minutes North of Central London London lies one of England's
newest cities, Milton Keynes where we meet and greet our new
arrivals. This city, which has grown out of 13 idyllic
villages to house
the increasing number of people wishing to work in London but live
in the tranquillity of the countryside now has International
companies such as Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes Benz
choosing this unique location as their UK Admin. Headquarters. The
quality of the location is assured. It blends in with the
rolling hills of the countryside surrounding it where we hold our
courses. MK is rich in
parks, greenery, bridleways and picnic sites and is transversed by
the tributaries of the Great Ouse river and the Grand Union Canal.
With a population of approx. 180,000, Milton Keynes is an
ideal leisure location for language courses and so it is to the surroundings of
this modern city and to the neighbouring Market town of
Northampton Where we take our students.
Since it is not a coastal resort it is not full of tourists and
foreign participants from other schools, and our
participants therefore experience life in a typical English environment.
The pronunciation of the native speakers is clear and accurate and
easily understood. It's central location means that historic
sights are all within easy reach. Who could say no to walking in
Shakespeare's footsteps in Stratford upon Avon or wandering
through the corridors of Oxford and Cambridge's fascinating
universities? All these, as well as the magic of London, can be reached in just 45 minutes. Despite all the new, MK
and Northampton have retained their originality and
historical interests with art galleries, museums and the
Stoke Bruerne Waterways museum situated on England's extensive
canal network. The regular markets with their fruit. Vegetables,
clothes and antique stands also offer a wonderful chance to see
the locals as they have been for the last 1000 years. offering
their wares, and to practice newly-learnt vocabulary in contact
with them.
